About InnerVisions Recovery Society
In 1988 two drug addicts found a way out of the hell they were separately living. Recovery not only gave both Billy and Kim a second chance at life, it also lead them to each other. Clean and sober and in love, they dreamed of helping others achieve what they had. Through hard-work and determination, they set out to help addicts find a new way of life by passing on a simple message:
“There is a way out of the loneliness and degradation of addiction. You can overcome the disease of addiction”
Their shared dream lead to InnerVision’s humble beginnings in half of a duplex in Coquitlam, BC. Though it was small at first, Billy and Kim always ensured that it was a safe and nurturing environment where even the most desperate drug addict could find help. Every person that has come through the doors at InnerVisions has been given a chance, so long as they were willing to ask for one.
Their dream is still alive today, and InnerVisions offers a comprehensive, sobriety driven continuum that has helped thousands of people get and stay sober. For over twenty-five years, Billy and Kim have never given up on the belief that miracles do happen, and they are proud of what InnerVisions has become.
InnerVisions has become a nationally respected and recognized non-profit recovery society. Its’ licensed residential treatment program has held the highest accreditation possible.
InnerVisions has been awarded finalist status for excellence in the preventions and treatment of substance abuse by the Donner Foundation. The Donner Foundation recognizes Canadian non-profit organizations every year for exemplifying excellence in the delivery of community-based programs.
Our staff and former clients have appeared on public & network television, radio, print media and speaking events to candidly discuss and educate professionals and public about addiction. We have provided training support to several school districts in our community, the RCMP, and a variety of Aboriginal groups.
InnerVisions prides itself in its’ in-house training program that allows people that have completed the residential program to learn to help others. All of the staff at InnerVisions are alumni of the program, and are trained to provide the highest quality of service. Senior staff are recognized by the Canadian Counsellors Certification Federation, and have varying degrees of therapeutic education. InnerVisions are respected and trusted as a voice for awareness, treatment and prevention of one of the deadliest issues to plague our communities.
Billy and Kim are very proud of the people involved with InnerVisions and the work that is done here. They truly believe in helping to make a difference in the lives of those who need it.
